President to hand over 11 awards

National award is the most prestigious and esteemed award in Indian film industry. It is given in order to honour the cast and crew of all the movie across India. Every year the award function is held in New Delhi where The President of India hand over the awards.
65th National Film Award is held today in New Delhi but with a small change. It is reported that President Ram Nath Kovind will only hand over 11 awards out of 140 awards and the rest will be hand over by Smriti Irani Information and Broadcast minister.
Recently the National award winners sent a letter to Directorate of Film Festival and to Information and Broadcasting Ministry stating that they are very disappointed and dejected after knowing that the President will only offer 11 awards. They also added that they knew it during rehearsals and reported about it to Smriti Irani and were promised a reply, but didn’t get any response.
