The Pretty ‘Ponvasantham’ of Kollywood has had a blockbuster summer with two massive hits in “Theri” and “24”. The actress in a recent interview has said she’s done with doing cliched heroine roles. In a recent interview to the Hindu, Sam spoke about being repetitive and also listed out the films she feels proud of.
Samantha said we will soon be seeing New version of Samantha soon and she was done playing those cliched heroine roles and was tired of coming up with same expressions. She said she was her biggest critic and even in films where people liked her, She has disliked herself and said it was more like template.
When asked to list out the films she was truly proud of, Sam named “Ye Maaya Chesave”, “Eega”, “Manam” and “Theri”.
“I loved what I did in Neethane En Ponvasantham (Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu) but not many watched it. Theri was watched by people in nooks and corners of Tamil Nadu. It’s a Vijay film and in it, I could make an impact. People connected with my part and told me they cried when I died. In these cynical times we live in, it’s not easy to make people cry.”
Samantha concluded saying she was looking forward to “U-Turn”, a Thriller and “Vada Chennai” where she plays a slum girl.
