"Being a VJ gives me immense happiness," says the lissome beauty, VJ Paloma of SS Music. And according to her, she has what it takes to be a successful VJ - good looks, charm, poise and intelligence. Thus, at the very beginning, she sets out to debunk the theory that VJ's need to be vapid beauties without a mind of their own.
Paloma auditioned for SS Music when she was just 17. So, initially being a VJ and academics co-existed peacefully. Perhaps this was for the very best as it kept her grounded; her teachers at Loyola were not carried away with her being a VJ and expected her to attend classes without any fuss.

Dance exhilarates her and apart from ballet which she is very proficient at, she can even dance to the beat of the Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Tango and Salsa to name a few. Given her supple figure and easy grace, it is easy to understand why dance for Paloma is a passion.

Paloma's is a many-splendoured persona; she played the bass guitar for an all girl band called 1:18 and did a lot of theatre, mostly musicals where apart from acting, she got to display her dancing skills as well. She also loves to read a lot and loves fantasy fiction. Of late, she has begin to wield the pen as well for a column in an English daily, where she provides a ringside view of the city's happenings and parties.

The only imperfection, if it could be said as much, is that Paloma is a perfectionist. God help all those who try to thwart her well laid plans! She prefers it when things are firmly under her control and hates mess, disorder and chaos. (friends have told her that she is very much like the character `Monica' portrayed in the smash hit serial, Friends).

Though she graduated with a degree in visual communication, Paloma prefers to be in front of the camera rather than behind it. In fact, a small role in the hit movie `Unnale Unnale' got her a lot of recognition. For the moment, Paloma has set her heart on television though she is certainly not going to look a gift horse in the mouth if she is offered a plum film role.

Fame and recognition have duly come her way and Paloma prefers to cash in on her image as a celebrity for an altruistic purpose. She donates a lot of money to the missionaries and feels that public figures should leverage their fame and wealth to help the less fortunate.

If there's one thing that can be said of this pretty, intelligent, candid and voluble person, it is this - may her tribe increase!
