Veteran Tamil writer Prapanchan passes away
1995 Sahitya academy winner, Veteran Tamil writer Prapanchan(73) passed away on Friday Morning. The writer who is well known for his Poetic Tamil writing had the end due to his prolonged illness. The writers family had accompanied him during the final days.
Prapanchan, had received many prestigious honors and accolades, with a special mention to Adhitnar award and Bharathiya Bhasha parishad awrds.Vaanam vasapadum(1995), is the novel which caught him the remarkable Sahitya academy award, which is predominantly given for those, who write the most outstanding books of literary merits of any major Indian languages. The writer previously worked as the Journalist in leading magazines including Ananda vikatan, kumudham and Kungumam.
S.Vaidiyalangam,who is fondly called as prapanchan, was born in Pondicherry and did the schooling there. His shorts stories are more popular among the bookworms, which was later added as the syllabus for Students. some of his famous products are Mahanadi, sandhya,padhavi, penmai vazhga and Aangalum pengalum.
